I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been constantly checking the weather for about a week prior to Marissa and Elliott’s wedding, but once it started to come close, it seemed inevitable- it was going to be one very rainy wedding day. But when I pulled into the church, we were still rain free! Getting ready time was running short, but we still had dry (if not clear) skies, so we were able to do the first look outside and get some beautiful portraits prior to the ceremony. Within a few minutes of the ceremony starting, the rain started and did not let up all night.

Luckily during their portraits in the afternoon, the rain let up just enough that we were able to sneak under a beautiful willow and get some gorgeous shots. We were a little wet, and pretty chilly, but it was more than worth it!

The reception was beautiful and so neat because Elliott’s parents had their reception at the same place 30 years earlier! Not only that, but the same woman who cooked his parents dinner cooked Marissa and Elliott’s wedding meal. How neat is that? (I can see why- it was amazing!)

Watching the love between them and the support of their families, you can tell that Marissa and Elliott, along with all their family and friends, and in this marriage for the long haul. They truly are devoted to each other and it was beautiful to see.

So- here are just a few of my favorites from their gloomy, but stunning and amazingly perfect day.
