I have been so excited for this engagement session for a while! First, it’s my first of the year, which is always a great time and re-ignites my passion and creativity for this work I love! Secondly, Brittany is my sister-in-law’s good friend, so it just adds some fun and excitement. And last, Brittany is stinking gorgeous! We were planning a fun, rustic shoot, which was so perfect for a winter engagement session! So when we discovered 3 hours before the session that our first choice was closed for the season and our second choice was also closed because of snow.. we had to improvise a little! Everything turned out more than great though!  We still ended up being able to get Brittany and Shane the rustic look they were hoping for!

We met at Carson Park in Eau Claire. It was NOT bad weather for February in Wisconsin, when, let’s be honest, you never really know what you’re going to get. We had sunny and 30s. BUT of course, we also had wind! We were able to find a nice spot where the tree line blocked out most of the wind, but as soon as the wind picked up and the sun hid behind the clouds, we starting getting COLD!

You would seriously NEVER guess that it was chilly out at all by looking at Brittany and Shane’s engagement photos! They were such great sports with the weather and wind! They powered through so many poses and walked down a closed road to find the perfect spot so we were still able to catch a little of the sun before it completely hid on us!

Enjoy some of my favorites from Brittany and Shane’s session. We had an awesome time and it just made me even more excited for their wedding late this summer!
