Last fall, I had the opportunity to photograph Courtney and Troy’s wedding at the Eau Claire Event District near the Country Jam grounds, and I have to say, I definitely hope it won’t be my last time shooting there.
This was my first wedding at the Eau Claire Event District, and I absolutely loved so much about the venue. From the moment I arrived, I could tell it was a space designed to make wedding days feel both beautiful and easy for couples.
One thing that stood out right away was the reception space. Courtney and Troy had everything decorated beautifully, and when I asked about some of the decor, I found out that many of the decorations were available directly through the venue. I thought that was such a cool feature and such a helpful option for couples planning their wedding day. Having those kinds of built-in choices available can make wedding planning feel a whole lot less overwhelming.
Before the ceremony, Courtney and Troy shared a super sweet first look at the venue. I always love when couples carve out a quiet moment together before the day gets moving because wedding days can go by ridiculously fast.
We were able to make the space feel extra private by closing the blinds around the area where they chose to see each other for the first time. It gave them a chance to soak everything in together without feeling like all eyes were on them, and honestly, those quieter moments are often some of my favorites to photograph.
If you know me, you know I love natural light, and the Eau Claire Event District delivered.
The soft neutral walls combined with the gorgeous wooden beams throughout the building created such a clean and timeless backdrop. For a light and airy photographer, it honestly felt a little dreamy.
Courtney and Troy chose to have their ceremony outdoors, and even though it was sunny and pretty warm, it was absolutely beautiful. Direct sunlight can make photographers nervous sometimes, but experience matters, and we were still able to create beautiful, natural images that captured the emotion and energy of the day.
One of my favorite parts of the property was how versatile everything felt. We were able to photograph their first look, bride and groom portraits, and all of their bridal party photos right on-site. While there are plenty of beautiful spots nearby, we honestly didn’t need to leave the property.
I especially loved using the venue itself as a backdrop for portraits. Between the architecture, shaded areas, and soft light around the grounds, we had so many beautiful options for creating relaxed and genuine wedding portraits.
What I appreciated most about the Eau Claire Event District was how effortlessly the day flowed. Everything felt convenient, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed for couples and their guests.
Courtney and Troy’s wedding was such a gorgeous celebration and honestly the perfect way to wind down my wedding season last year. I’m so thankful I had the chance to photograph their day and experience this venue for the first time.
