We headed out on Black Friday to get our Christmas tree at Pleasant Valley Tree Farm. We ADORE going there and it is the only Black Friday shopping we ever do (Okay, fine, I shop online…)

Anyway, we had a great time! We’ve been there in all sorts of weather. One time, the weather was so cold we literally got off the hay ride, I pointed to the first tree we saw and said, “I don’t even care, I’m freezing, get that one.” And I’m obsessive about our Christmas tree, so that is a big deal. Last year, the boys didn’t even need snow pants. This year was somewhere in between. It definitely felt like winter, but it wasn’t bitter cold. There was a tiny layer of snow on the ground, but not enough to drench us. Basically, it was perfect Christmas tree weather. My youngest thought walking in boots was hilarious to try, my middle son was so preoccupied with the snow (“Oh look at this beautiful snow, this snow is so beautiful!”) and eating the snow that I’m not sure he even knew what we were there to do. And of course, my oldest was disappointed that Daddy didn’t bring the chain saw….. We all had a great time though. And our tree is here and ready to be decorated. And, I’m sure, torn down by a toddler shortly thereafter.

I love the look of awe on Ascher’s face watching Tyler cut down the tree.
