Let’s talk about something I think about all the time as a photographer—especially one who works closely with moms:
You’re in almost every family memory… but not in the pictures.
And I get it. You’re usually the one taking the photo, making the snacks, wiping the faces, chasing the toddler, fixing the collar, packing the bag. You’re doing all the things.
But here’s the thing:
You deserve to be seen, too.
And that’s exactly why I love what I do with motherhood photography. It’s not about perfection or poses—it’s about presence.
So many moms tell me things like:
“Oh I don’t need to be in them.”
“I’m not photo-ready.”
“Let’s just focus on the kids.”
And while I totally understand that feeling (truly—I’ve heard it a hundred times!), I always gently push back.
Because your children? They want to remember you.
The way you held them. The way you laughed. The way your eyes lit up when they ran toward you.
Motherhood photography captures those real, fleeting, beautiful moments.
And when your kids look back years from now, I promise they won’t be looking for perfect hair or the right outfit.
They’ll be looking for you.

I need to say this (and I say it with love):
Stop waiting until you feel ready.
So many moms feel like they need to hit some magical milestone before they can get in front of the camera.
But your children are never going to remember whether you were wearing makeup or if your hair was done or if you lost the baby weight.
They’re going to remember that you showed up.

Motherhood photography is honestly one of the most meaningful things I get to do.
These sessions are calm, sweet, sometimes a little chaotic (in the best way), but always filled with real connection. There’s no pressure to be perfect. I’m just there to gently guide you, help you feel like yourself, and capture the magic that already exists between you and your kids.
I look for:
That quick moment when your little one grabs your hand
The belly laughs
The quiet snuggles
The full-body hugs that only toddlers can give
I shoot with soft, natural light and a whole lot of love.
No stiff posing. No unrealistic expectations. Just honest, heart-filled images of motherhood.
Because I love seeing the numbers and the data, here’s a little real talk backed by research (and experience!):
| Fact | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| 92% of moms say they’re rarely in photos with their kids | You’re not alone—but it’s time to change that |
| Seeing photos of themselves with their moms boosts kids’ emotional connection | This helps create strong memories and bonds |
| Moms who show up in photos often gain confidence over time | Getting in front of the camera can be healing |
| Authentic family photos are more emotionally meaningful than posed ones | It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being real |
I just want to say this: you are enough.
You are beautiful in your motherhood—right now, just as you are.
And motherhood photography isn’t about a photoshoot. It’s about giving yourself and your children the gift of being remembered together.
So please, stop stepping out of the frame.
You belong in it.
And when you’re ready, I’d be so honored to help you capture that.
Whether you’re chasing toddlers, holding a brand new baby, or navigating life with a teenager—this season matters.
Let’s document the real moments. The snuggles. The chaos. The love.
