This past weekend, I was lucky enough to photograph Mike and EJ’s wedding in Rock Falls, Wisconsin, near Eau Claire and Mondovi. Though it was a hot day for early June, it was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining, and so were Mike and EJ.
I was only at this wedding for a couple of hours, but the amount of love I witnessed during that time was incredible. Every interaction throughout the day made it clear just how much these two mean to each other and to the people surrounding them.
Mike and EJ chose to celebrate their wedding on a family farm in Wisconsin, even though they currently live out of state together. I absolutely love when couples incorporate locations that hold special meaning to them. Whether it’s for an engagement session, wedding portraits, or an entire wedding day, meaningful locations always add something extra special to the experience.
As a photographer, I am always drawn to unique locations, especially when they tell part of a couple’s story. This farm was the perfect backdrop for a wedding that felt personal, relaxed, and full of heart.
One of my favorite moments from the ceremony was when Mike and EJ shared part of the vows they had written for each other publicly. They also took things a step further by writing additional private vows for each other to read later in their marriage. Those letters were placed in a keepsake box during the ceremony to be opened together in the future. I thought that was such a sweet and meaningful idea.
After the ceremony, guests lined up with bubble machines for the couple’s exit. Instead of tossing rice or confetti, everyone filled the air with bubbles as Mike and EJ walked through. It created such a fun atmosphere and made for some absolutely gorgeous photographs. I loved seeing them incorporate unique details that reflected their personalities and made the day even more memorable.
I was also incredibly impressed by the way Mike and EJ and their loved ones transformed a barn into a beautiful wedding venue. The space felt warm, welcoming, and full of character. It was the perfect setting for a celebration surrounded by family and friends.
One thing that stood out throughout the entire day was the love and support from every single guest in attendance. It was impossible not to feel it. From the ceremony to the celebration afterward, it was clear that Mike and EJ are deeply loved by everyone around them.
Enjoy a few of my favorite images from this sunny, warm, and absolutely gorgeous Rock Falls wedding day.

I was unable to attend because of the heat. Enjoyed the pictures n the love that was shown.
The barn setting looks pretty cozy. Did you get any fun candids during the reception?
I was only at the wedding for a couple hours, so no reception photos from me for this wedding. It was gorgeous though!
