Wisconsin Wedding Planning Tip | How to Plan Your Detail Kit
Helping my brides get their detail kit reading is a favorite Wisconsin wedding planning tip of mine! This is because it does more for the wedding day than just have details all in one place. Having a detail kit ready starts your day off stress free!
As your photographer, the first things that I will do when I get to your getting ready space at your wedding day is grab your detail kit and take your detail images. Having your kit ready to go will mean that you don’t have to take have time that morning to stress or worry about where things are and can just keep enjoying your morning!
Wisconsin Wedding Planning Tip | What to Include in Your Detail Kit
- Essentials Checklist:
- Bridal Accessories: This includes your jewelry, shoes, veil, and any other accessories you’ll be wearing.
- Bridal Gown: Have your wedding dress steamed and ready to be photographed in all its glory. If you have a veil place this with the gown.
- Invitation Suite: Save a pristine copy of your wedding invitation, RSVP card, and any other stationery for elegant flat lay shots.
- Bouquet: Your bridal bouquet adds a pop of color and personality to your detail photos. If your florist is able, have them deliver any scraps from arranging your flowers. I will use those in the invite or other flatlay shots!
- Rings: Both engagement and wedding bands should be sparkling clean and easily accessible.
- Perfume: Your signature scent adds a personal touch to your detail shots.
- Family Heirlooms or Sentimental Items: These can include anything from a special piece of jewelry to a handkerchief passed down through generations

- Texture and Contrast: Incorporate textures like lace, silk, or velvet to add visual interest to your photos. Contrasting colors can also make your details pop. I will usually use a dress or veil for this- it can be super gorgeous!
- Incorporate Personal Touches: Consider adding personal touches like a handwritten note or a meaningful object to infuse your detail photos with emotion and personality. If you have vows, I will capture the vow book here!
When I arrive, I usually plan about an hour to take these images along with some candid getting ready images. After those, we will move into more formal getting ready images of you getting in to your dress! SO much fun! Let me know if you have any questions about setting up your detail kit!
